Ravens' Kyle Hamilton Looking To 'Right That Wrong' Against Bengals
The Baltimore Ravens are entering Week 2 with revenge on their mind.
Baltimore's 2022 season ended at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals after losing 24-17 in the AFC Wild Card Game. The loss was the Ravens' second straight to Cincinnati after also losing to them in the final game of the regular season 27-16.
Now, the Ravens and safety Kyle Hamilton will have a chance to make up for the sour taste that the end of last season left in their mouth.
"We've got another opportunity, thankfully, coming up to right that wrong," Hamilton said. "I think it's more for myself [a] be where your feet are kind of deal. Get better from what you messed up in the past, but you always have an opportunity right in front of you and take advantage of it."
The two teams are trending in the opposite direction after Week 1. The Ravens rolled to a 25-9 win over the Houston Texans, while Joe Burrow and the Bengals' offense struggled mightily in sloppy conditions in a 24-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
If Baltimore's defense is going to continue its strong start, they'll have to do it without safety Marcus Williams, who suffered a pectoral injury against the Texans. Top cornerback Marlon Humphrey may also miss his second straight game as he recovers from foot surgery.
Humphrey didn't practice on Wednesday after John Harbaugh said earlier in the week that he "has a shot" to play against Cincinnati.
"Those are two guys who it's hard to make up for," Hamilton said. "They're two of the best in our league. You don't come across guys like that very often. I think we challenge ourselves every day, and our coaches harp on it every day in practice that everybody has to be ready to play. They preach if you're in there, you're a starter. Guys like Geno [Stone] and Ronald Darby, who we brought in, Rock Ya-Sin, everybody is ready to play at any point."
Baltimore heads on the road for the first time this season when it plays the Bengals on Sunday at Paycor Stadium at 1 p.m. ET.
