Lamar Jackson is reflecting on the passing of former Baltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins, noting that he had "Great energy, great guy to be around," Jackson said. "Just sorry for the loss, especially to his family, because he was a great guy."

Collins passed away at the age of 28 following a motorcycle accident in Florida on Monday night. He played for five seasons in the NFL, including two seasons with the Ravens in 2017 and 2018. After not playing in 2019, he returned to to where he started his career, in Seattle, for two more seasons. Collins rushed for 1997 yards and 18 touchdowns in his NFL career.

In college, he played three seasons for the Arkansas Razorbacks. During his time there, he rushed for 3,703 yards which ranks second all-time in program history. He was one of five players in SEC history to rush for 1,000 yards in three consecutive seasons.

Jackson was a rookie with the Ravens in 2018 and the two shared the field together at times. Both Jackson and Collins are native to Florida and played high school football there. "A.C. that's my boy, he's from Broward County too," Jackson said. "And he was here my rookie year. We were always chatting, you know playing around and stuff like that in the locker room."

Jackson also shared a highlight of Collins scoring a touchdown for Baltimore in a game in 2017 against the Bengals.
