'Raven for Life': Mark Andrews Labels Lamar Jackson Amid Contract Uncertainty
The Baltimore Ravens are a part of one of the biggest contract extension sagas of the offseason with quarterback Lamar Jackson. Both parties are said to be a reported $100 million apart in the latest negotiations.
Amidst the uncertain future with their star quarterback, one of Jackson's top pass-catchers still offers a glimmer of hope that his team will find a way to keep the former Louisville product in Baltimore.
"I think Lamar is a Raven for life," Mark Andrews said on Tuesday's edition of NBC's Pro Football Talk. "I know that the organization wants Lamar, and I know that he has a lot of respect for the organization as well. I think both parties want to get this deal done; it's just about doing it."
Andrews even went as far as to say that he would give Jackson his paycheck.
Since the dynamic pairing joined the Ravens following the 2018 NFL Draft, Andrews has been the leading receiver in three of their four years together.
Despite Jackson missing five regular-season games, Andrews finished 2022 just under the 1,000-yard receiving mark at 847. Their chemistry and connection on the field have helped a Ravens' passing offense that many believe to be a weakness.
If the Ravens can re-sign Jackson to a long-term deal, it is believed that in addition to a new offensive coordinator, Baltimore will look to surround their franchise signal-caller with more weapons.
