Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Voted MVP by Pro Bowl Peers

At last weekend's Pro Bowl games, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was the overwhelming season league MVP in a vote by players in attendance.

It's not yet been announced, but the Ravens quarterback is expected to win his second-career league MVP this season. The NFL Honors Awards will be presented on Thursday night, and by then it should be official.

But at the Pro Bowl games this past weekend, he's already the clear choice. Fox Sports conducted a poll of 35 players in attendance, and it was overwhelmingly Lamar.

"This is the third year we've asked players for their MVP picks, and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had the most dominant showing of any player in those three seasons," Fox Sports' Greg Auman wrote. "After leading Baltimore to the AFC Championship Game, he was the choice for 21 of the 35 players, often framed as 'it's got to be Lamar' or 'easy one: Lamar.'"

It wasn't even close to second place Christian McCaffrey, who got just four votes ... Most likely from fellow 49ers players.

Another Raven who received votes, but for Most Underrated Defensive Player of the Year, was Baltimore defensive tackle Justin Madubuike, who shared the votes with Cowboys defensive back DaRon Bland. Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton and linebacker Patrick Queen each received one vote too.

Madubuike received two votes for Defensive Player of the Year, while Hamilton and linebacker Roquan Smith received one vote apiece. Steelers pass rusher T.J. Watt won that vote with six total.
