The Baltimore Ravens have a conundrum on their hands.

No, it's not how to fill roster holes along the offensive line and it's not how to best utilize two top tight ends in Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely in the offense. It's something bigger.

The question coach John Harbaugh and his staff need to answer is if Malik Cunningham is a quarterback or a wide receiver in the NFL.

“I think that remains to be seen,” Harbaugh said, via the team’s website. “We’re going to take a look at him and see how he does. He’s definitely developmental as a quarterback. He’s developmental as a wide receiver, too. But he’s a good athlete. He’s a good person. He’s a competitive guy, he wants to do well.”

The Ravens have quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Josh Johnson on the roster, as well as wideouts Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, Nelson Agholor and Tylen Wallace in the room.

Where does Cunningham fit best?

At Louisville, Cunningham was a quarterback. And a good one. The Cardinal passed for 9,664 yards on 692 completions and 70 touchdowns to 29 interceptions while posting a completion percentage of 62.6 percent.

He also carried the ball 619 times for 3,182 yards and another 50 scores. But that's out of the question at this level.

Cunningham worked at both quarterback and wideout as well as special teams for the New England Patriots after signing as an undrafted free agent. But he didn't make the roster and ended up on the practice squad before the Ravens signed him to their active roster.

He got four offensive snaps during the regular season last year, and Harbaugh said this week they'll keep looking at him for multiple positions heading into 2024.
