Ravens Draft: Baltimore Lands Pass Rush Specialist Darius Robinson in Latest ESPN Mock
While the Ravens are still reeling from an early exit to the postseason, general manager Eric DeCosta is working toward improving his team in the upcoming draft, as well as contemplating free agency.
The Senior Bowl has come and gone, showcasing some top talent eligible for this year's NFL Draft in April. The Ravens' first selection in April will be No. 30 in the first round unless they decide to trade up or down. Down would be the most likely scenario, but we won't know that until and if it happens.
In its latest NFL Mock Draft, ESPN thinks the Ravens will add a pass rusher. One player that stood out in the Senior Bowl was Missouri defensive end Darius Robinson, and ESPN projects him to Baltimore at No. 30.
"If there was one big riser from Senior Bowl week, it was Robinson. The 6-foot-5 286-pounder showed great power and movement ability while playing at both defensive end and defensive tackle during practices. His versatility is a gift, and the Ravens love large outside pass-rushers. With Justin Madubuike and Jadeveon Clowney entering free agency, there’s a need. There’s some Cameron Jordan ability here in Robinson’s game — he had 8.5 sacks in 2023 — and his stock is soaring like a rocket."
Lots of variables will come into play before the draft, such as free agency, which begins March 13. DeCosta will have a lot of choices to make when that time comes, too. Baltimore has 29 players scheduled to hit free agency.
Ravens Retaining Free Agent Justin Madubuike 'Key to Avoid Major Dip' in 2024?
The Ravens have about $7.3 million in cap space and got some players on the cheap this past year who outperformed their contracts.
