NFL Mock Draft: Ravens Select Georgia CB Kelee Ringo

The Baltimore Ravens could address their cornerbacks need in the NFL Draft after letting Marcus Peters go.

Pass-catcher and cornerback stand out as arguably the two biggest needs for the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the NFL. But, of course, that is assuming they can agree on a contract extension with quarterback Lamar Jackson

In a draft class with plenty of options, a new mock draft from Justin Melo of Draft Network projects the Ravens to go cornerback on Day 1, selecting Kelee Ringo.

"The Ravens can pass on a first-round receiver after signing Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency," Melo said. "The Ravens love pro-ready prospects who have been battle-tested in the SEC. Kelee Ringo blends size (6-1, 207) with exceptional athleticism (4.36 40-yard dash)."

Pro-ready is one way to describe Ringo, as he comes into the league after playing 29 games in just two seasons. His final season at Georgia saw him record 42 total tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble, and seven pass deflections. He started every game for the Bulldogs on their way to a national championship.

Ringo would give the Ravens their outside cornerback partner for Marlon Humphrey in the wake of not extending the contract of Marcus Peters. The 30-year-old played 13 games for Baltimore this past season, recording 47 tackles, one sack, and an interception.

But the decision not to bring him seems like a statement of intention from the Ravens' front office to get younger and pair someone with Humphrey long-term.
