Ravens Draft More WR Help For Lamar in Latest Mock Draft
The Kansas City Chiefs may have won the Super Bowl, but that just means that NFL Draft season is officially underway - and it’s time for the Baltimore Ravens to prepare for a revenge tour.
Baltimore came up just short of the big game when the team lost to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game by one score, but a new mock draft has the team focused on making the offense more explosive by drafting wide receiver Keon Coleman out of Florida State.
Coleman was dominant in 2023 for the Seminoles and was a large part of why the team was in the playoff hunt for most of the college football season.
“Keon Coleman is the bigger-bodied target (6-4, 215) at wide receiver that Lamar Jackson needs,” CBS writes. “Coleman can line up anywhere, and he is a slick route runner with phenomenal knowledge of how to best utilize his body to maintain leverage against defenders. Coleman has an argument for being the best-contested catcher in this class. He's a great athlete, and he will be a red zone monster in the NFL.”
This past season, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson won his second MVP and displayed strong chemistry with rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers. However, outside of Flowers, Baltimore’s receiving core wasn’t particularly impressive unless you count tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely.
Ravens Offseason: Expensive Salary Cuts For Baltimore
A combination of Coleman, who had 11 touchdowns in his lone season in Tallahassee after transferring from Michigan State, and Flowers could be lethal for the reigning MVP, considering just how different the two are and how their skill sets complement one another.
It may be early in the draft process, but Coleman is a name for Baltimore fans to watch as the NFL Combine approaches later this month.
