Ravens NFL Mock Draft: DB Deonte Banks Comes to Baltimore

The NFL Draft is fast approaching and in a recent mock draft, the Ravens add some depth to their defense.

The Baltimore Ravens and defense have always gone hand in hand. Having the third-best defense in the NFL last season, allowing just 18.5 points per game, in the latest NFL Mock Draft, Baltimore is adding to it.

CBS Sports has the Ravens looking to Maryland and defensive back Deonte Banks with the 27th pick. As a senior at Maryland, Banks had a career-best season, notching his best-ever tallies in games, tackles, sacks, and passes defended.

Part of the Maryland team that had an 8-5 record last season, Banks is destined for the NFL after a good season with the Terrapins.

So, what can we expect from Banks once in an NFL system?

"Banks put together the type of season that will land you in the top-50 conversation, CBS Sports writes. He's a fluid athlete who is also big, physical corner who can run and match up with NFL wide receivers."

Banks is also a good communicator when it comes to passing off a receiver in a zone scheme. His size and length make him a viable option as a CB2 for most teams.

The major knock on Banks is when his back is to the ball, he often panics as he tries to catch up to a receiver. But hopefully, that can be rectified during the mini-camp and preseason.

Some Mock Drafts have the Ravens taking a wide receiver in the first round to give quarterback Lamar Jackson some more weapons, but adding to what is already a superb defensive unit wouldn't be the worst thing either.
