Ravens Odell Beckham Jr. 'At His Best Now!' Says John Harbaugh
The Baltimore Ravens knew adding Odell Beckham Jr. to their offense would give them an extra dimension. But things didn't start so well as Odell didn't have more than two receptions in his first four games.
He also had his injury issues again, which was a cause for concern, but once he got over them, we finally started to see his talents on the football field.
Now, with the Divisional Round of the playoffs about to get underway, head coach John Harbaugh detailed the struggles Odell went through this season, and also revealed that he is now the best version of himself since coming to Baltimore.
"I just think he's been through a lot, Odell's been through so much and he's worked so hard," Harbaugh said. "It hasn't been easy, I think there's a lot of pain involved there over the course of the last two years and even throughout the course of the season. In terms of working through the different challenges and he's at his best right now. You see out there he looks really good, he's moving around excellent, fast, he's catching the ball, running great routes. So I think I'm looking forward to seeing what he does here.”
Beckham Jr. has shown flashes of his talent returning this season as evidenced by his four-catch, 116-yard game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals, and his 97-yard game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Now, with the Ravens gearing up to face the Houston Texans, the offense is looking scary. Tight end Mark Andrews was a full participant in practice, so he could make a return. Then we have Zay Flowers, Odell, Rashod Bateman, Isaiah Likely, and running backs Gus Edwards and Justice Hill, not to mention Lamar Jackson all available, Baltimore is loaded.
Ravens, Texans Missing Significant Pieces Before Divisional Round Matchup
The Ravens are in a good spot heading into the Texans matchup and while having Andrews return is great, getting the best version of Beckham Jr. on the field is perhaps the x-factor that could tilt the scales in Baltimore's favor.
Harbaugh is looking forward to seeing what Odell can do, and frankly, so are we.
