Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. talked about his lackluster performance in a 25-9 Week 1 win over the Houston Texans at M&T Bank Stadium.

"Obviously I do have a smile on my face but the competitor in me, the strive for greatness, all of those things are not necessarily happy with my performance so much today," Beckham Jr. said. "But it's so not about me, it's been a long journey. I was working hard just to get back on the field even if it was to catch one football in the game."

Beckham Jr. finished the game with two receptions for 37 receiving yards on three targets, a relatively tame performance for the three-time Pro Bowler.

His first catch of the game came in the third quarter and was for eight yards. Halfway through the fourth quarter, he caught his second pass for a 29-yard gain. He also drew two defensive pass interference penalties for 26 yards and 17 yards.

The star wide receiver signed with the Ravens on a one-year, $15 million contract after missing the entire 2022 season due to an ACL tear he suffered in Super Bowl LVI with the Rams. This matchup with the Texans was the first time he had played in an NFL game since Feb. 13, 2022, when the tear occurred.

Baltimore and Beckham Jr. will return to action next week when they travel to Ohio to take on Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. ET.
