'Diva This or That!' Odell Beckham Jr. 'Knows What He Brings' To Ravens
Whenever Baltimore Ravens receiver Odell Beckham Jr. decides to hang up his cleats, he will have ended his career with one of the greater highlight reels the NFL has ever seen.
But for all of the oohs and aahs OBJ has garnered with one-handed catches and diving grabs, he knows his impact has gone beyond the spectacular plays he has made throughout his nine-year NFL career. The Ravens (13-3) receiver spoke about what he's brought to Baltimore and how not everyone gets to see the full picture.
"I know what I bring energy-wise, I know what I bring leader-wise," OBJ told The Baltimore Sun. "Everyone looks at he gets paid this much; there's so much other [stuff] that people don't see. People who are outside the locker room who create a narrative, they would be like, 'diva this or that.' They use these words, but they don't know you on a day-to-day basis."
OBJ, 31, has gone from being a young star on the New York Giants to a veteran who knows what it takes to win the Super Bowl on a young Ravens team with many young players still seeking their first. Beckham Jr. won the Super Bowl in 2022 with the Los Angeles Rams and was instrumental in the win with two catches for 52 yards and a touchdown before tearing his ACL in the second quarter.
While he's only one season removed from winning the Super Bowl, OBJ believes the Ravens have a great shot at accomplishing the feat as well.
"This team is the best team I've ever been on from the top to the bottom," OBJ said after the Ravens' 56-19 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. "We set ourselves up for success. It's got to come through The Bank in these black and purple unis. Go through this defense [and] this offense is crazy. Everything is right in front of us, so let's go ahead [and] keep preparing."
Should Ravens Try to Keep Steelers Out of Playoffs?
With the No. 1 seed and AFC North locked up, the Ravens will certainly be one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl, and if they're going to enter that uncharted territory, OBJ's leadership will be instrumental in the franchise getting over the hump for the first time since 2012.
