On April 9 of this year, the Baltimore Ravens upgraded their wide receivers room by signing journeyman Odell Beckham Jr. for the upcoming season.

Beckham was coming off a second ACL injury suffered during the Super Bowl two seasons prior in the Rams win over the Bengals in Los Angeles.

The deal was for one year and $15 million and included up to $3 million in incentives. Beckham earned $1 million of those incentives with 35 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns.

That breaks down as $250,000 for catching at least 30 passes, $500,000 for gaining at least 500 yards receiving, and $250,000 for his three touchdowns. That means the Ravens paid OBJ $16 million for 35 catches, 565 yards and three scores - hardly a bargain.

That much money in exchange for that amount of production seems like a lot, and not very team-friendly. Beckham can clearly still play and contribute for a contender, but most likely won't do so next season at that salary.

Beckham was considered at one time to be one of the great ones at his position, but clearly, age and injuries have taken their toll.

For his nine-year career, Beckham has tallied 566 catches for 7,932 yards and 59 touchdowns, along with 23 carries for 170 yards and another score.
