'Sky's The Limit!' Says Lamar Jackson After Ravens Win vs. Bengals
The Baltimore Ravens have taken a stranglehold on the AFC North after their 27-24 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. In what was a close game all day, Lamar Jackson and the offense put some breathing room between themselves and Cincinnati which turned out to be enough.
It was also the second game in which we saw Todd Monken's offense, and things went far smoother than they did a week ago.
With the win over the Bengals, the Ravens moved to 2-0 on the season and Jackson stated that the team did what it was supposed to do in hostile territory.
“Like I been saying since camp, sky’s the limit for this team,” Jackson said. “All phases I believe we fought today how we were supposed to. Tough game, former division champs, great team, we just did what we were supposed to do.”
It what was a better game offensively for Baltimore as they gained 415 total yards compared to just 265 last week. And the offensive line didn't give up a sack after allowing four vs. the Texans.
In two games, Monken's offense has scored a combined 52 points and for Jackson, the better showing on Sunday was down to one thing - getting over that first game.
“Yeah, just from experience, just playing that first game, was like a preseason game for us, especially the starters because we haven’t played in a while together,” Jackson said. “But today, I feel like we stepped it up.”
With the Ravens now getting into their regular season stride, the team will be sweating on the fitness of Odell Beckham Jr. who picked up an ankle injury. Although coach John Harbaugh stated post-game that he doesn't think it is serious.
Next up for Baltimore is the Indianapolis Colts at M&T Bank Stadium as the team looks to start the season with three consecutive victories.
