NFL Mock Draft: Ravens Get Offensive Line 'Layup' in First-Round

The Baltimore Ravens offensive line has been ravaged in free agency, but the franchise gets a layup in CBS Sports' latest mock draft.
In this story:

The Baltimore Ravens offensive line needs reinforcements, as the unit has seen three starters, Kevin Zeitler (Lions), Morgan Moses, and John Simpson (Jets) walk in free agency.

Now, Todd Monken and Co.'s task is to help fortify Lamar Jackson's protection, given that the scheme is more pass-orientated now than under Greg Roman.

Luckily for the Ravens, this year's draft class is littered with talented linemen and in CBS Sports' latest mock draft, Baltimore gets a layup with Oklahoma's Tyler Guyton falling into their lap at No. 30.

"This feels like a layup; Morgan Moses is now with the Jets and Tyler Guyton, who was dominant at right tackle for the Sooners last season, slides into the starting job," CBS Sports writes.

So, after the first week of free agency, three of the Ravens' starting linemen are on a different team, which means some serious dealings must now be done by Eric DeCosta and the front office.

Luckily, Guyton's versatility means he can play at either tackle spot, and with Moses now with the Jets, having Tyler play right tackle could be Baltimore's next move.

But there need to be more additions, and with Phil Haynes (the Seahawks' starting guard last year) and Nick Gates (the Commanders' starting guard) still available and likely available on the cheap, they could be seen as options.

Ravens Ex Kevin Zeitler Signs With Lions

There is still plenty of time for Baltimore to pick up valuable free agency additions to help protect Lamar, but there is a lot of work to do between now and the NFL Draft.

Guyton looms as the last piece of the offensive line puzzle as the Ravens, ideally, don't want to be in the business of having to draft two starting linemen with their first two selections.

Which means the franchise needs to go shopping in free agency.
