Ravens 'Offseason Standout' Nelson Agholor Primed For Bigger Offensive Role?

Baltimore Ravens free agent acquisition Nelson Agholor has already been turning heads this offseason. Could he be set for a bigger role on offense going forward?
In this story:

The Baltimore Ravens have added some nice offensive pieces this offseason, most notably Odell Beckham Jr. and draftee Zay Flowers. But one shrewd free agent signing has hit the ground running this offseason - Nelson Agholor

With OTA's and minicamp now finished, it wasn't Flowers or Beckham Jr. that made everyone stand up and take notice, it was Agholor, and as such, ESPN has named him as the offseason "Breakout star" who is making a case to become more involved in the high-octane Ravens offense.

"Agholor, a first-rounder in 2015, is on his fourth team in five years, but he has made a strong impression in his first offseason with the Ravens," ESPN writes. "Nelly" -- as Lamar Jackson calls him -- has repeatedly stood out, whether it's a long touchdown grab or a nifty grab on a back-shoulder throw. Agholor is the clear-cut No. 4 wide receiver in Baltimore, but he's making a case for having a bigger role in the passing game."

Clearly down the pecking order in terms of position as Beckham Jr. Flowers, Mark Andrews, and possibly Rashod Bateman or Devin Duvernay ahead of him, but Agholor is putting his best foot forward with his new team.

In his last two seasons with the Patriots, Agholor totaled 835 yards from 68 receptions and five touchdowns. Not needing to be the main man on offense, Agholor could go under the radar next season.

Will he surpass his career-best return of 896 yards and eight touchdowns from the 2020 season? Likely no, but he could be an important cog in the Ravens' offensive machine next season as the rest of his teammates go about their business.

With the likes of Beckham Jr., Flowers, Andrews, Bateman, and Duvernay already seen as reasons why Baltimore is to be feared on offense this season, if we add in a veteran in Agholor who can produce when it matters, then the sky's the limit for this Ravens offense under Todd Monken.
