Former Ravens OT Orlando Brown Jr. Signs With Rival Bengals
Former Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. has signed with the AFC North-rival Cincinnati Bengals, as reported by his agent, Michael Portner, on Wednesday evening.
Per Portner, the Bengals will pay Brown $42.3 million over the next two years and the deal includes a signing bonus of $31 million. It's the richest deal ever paid for an offensive lineman.
Heading into the offseason, the Bengals targeted improving their offensive line which ranked near the bottom of the league over the last two seasons. Quarterback Joe Burrow was sacked 92 times - the most in the NFL - over that time period.
Brown also brings experience to the Cincinnati roster, being now just the second player to have multiple Pro Bowls on the current roster next to wideout Ja'Marr Chase.
Brown was drafted in the third round (83rd overall) by the Ravens in the 2018 NFL Draft after forgoing his senior year at Oklahoma to play pro ball.
After spending his first three seasons in Baltimore, Brown - who is still just 26 years old - was acquired by the Kansas City Chiefs in a 2021 trade with the Ravens.
Brown was primarily at right tackle for Baltimore and asked for a trade so he could play left tackle to fulfill a promise to his late father, former NFLer Orlando Brown.
