Ravens LB Patrick Queen Reacts to 'Beeks' Contract Extension
When the Baltimore Ravens franchise tagged Justin Madubuike, they knew it would give them some time to work out a long-term extension.
Less than a week after the decision was made, the two sides have agreed to terms on a deal.
The Ravens and Madubuike agreed to a four-year, $98 million extension Friday evening. Adam Schefter was first on the news. The deal includes over $70 million in guarantees and over $50 million at signing.
Madubuike's teammate took to social media to congratulate his friend and fellow Raven.
"BEEEKKKSSSSSS. Dinner on you this time buddy 😂," Queen replied to the post.
"Beeks" and Queen were both drafted by the Ravens in 2020 and have cut their teeth together in the NFL in Baltimore since. Teammate Kyle Van Noy chimed in and replied, "Every time!"
"Justin is one of the best defensive tackles in the entire NFL and a cornerstone on our defense," Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said regarding the new deal.

Madubuike, 26, is coming off a career year where the Texas A&M product tallied 13 sacks - an impressive number for an interior defensive lineman. He, along with other top veterans like linebacker Patrick Queen were set to hit the free agent market this offseason with Baltimore's minimal cap numbers.
While the annual salary or specific contract details have not been officially announced, the move is expected to give the Ravens needed cap space to continue to build their roster following a trip to the AFC Championship game.
