Ravens Likely Playoff Opponent: Texans or Steelers Await

With the first day of the Wild Card round completed, the Baltimore Ravens know who they will likely face in a week from now.

It's only been a day of Wild Card football, but the Baltimore Ravens already have a pretty good picture of who they will be facing next week.

With the Kansas City Chiefs' 26-7 victory over the Miami Dolphins, and the Houston Texans' 45-14 blowout win over the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore is likely to face rookie phenom CJ Stroud in the divisional round of the playoffs.

That is, of course, if a major upset doesn't happen on Monday.

With the Buffalo Bills-Pittsburgh Steelers contest moved to Monday afternoon due to inclement weather, the Ravens won't know for sure who they will play until then.

If Pittsburgh wins, as the seventh seed they would travel to M&T Bank Stadium.

The likelihood of that happening may be slim, but the Steelers have a history of historic upsets in playoff games. In 2005, the Steelers became the first No. 6 seed in the previous playoff format to win the Super Bowl after knocking off the 14-win Indianapolis Colts, 13-win Denver Broncos, and 11-win Cincinnati Bengals along the way.

That may have been close to 18 years ago, but it's still recent enough to cause alarm for a Ravens team that has lost seven of their last eight to their arch-rivals.

Stroud and the Texans won't come any easier, though.

Yes, Houston currently has a rookie quarterback and head coach but both are performing beyond their years. No matter who the Ravens end up facing, the divisional round won't be an easy game for the AFC's top seed.
