After hosting Wagner for a visit last offseason, there were reports of the Baltimore Ravens having an interest in Wagner again, but a visit was never scheduled between the two parties, and now he is officially off the market.

After releasing him due to salary cap constraints a season ago, the Seattle Seahawks are bringing back on of their own.

On Saturday, The Score's Jordan Schultz was the first to report Seattle's signing of linebacker Bobby Wagner to a one-year, $7 million deal.

The Baltimore Ravens hosted Wagner last offseason after his release from Seattle, but Wagner signed with the Los Angeles Rams. He joined LA thinking that another Super Bowl was on the horizon, but instead, it was the Seahawks who made the playoffs while the Rams finished with a brutal 5-12 record.

There were also reports of the Ravens having an interest in Wagner this time around, but a visit was never scheduled between the two parties.

Wagner reportedly decided he wanted a return to Seattle - where he made eight Pro Bowls from 2012 to 2021 -  this offseason after being recruited back by veteran safety Quandre Diggs.

"I wouldn't put it out there if there wasn't interest," Diggs said in an interview with the Locked On Seahawks podcast and AllSeahawks.com.

"I think it's interest from both sides. I mean, with Bob, I think the things that happened last year are kind of in the past, and I hope he's just able to kind of rekindle that fire and we will be a match made in heaven for him and we can get that done. Everybody in the locker room would love to have him back."

Wagner now re-joins a Seahawks team that's coming off of a surprising playoff appearance this past season, and his return solidifies that Seattle has playoff-or-bust expectations in 2023.
