Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Stars in Commanding Win Over Detroit Lions
The Baltimore Ravens outclassed the Detroit Lions in a 38-6 drubbing at home on Sunday.
The Ravens were in control of the game from the very first drive after choosing to take the ball first after the coin toss. They marched down the field on a seven-play 75-yard drive that was capped off with a seven-yard touchdown run from Jackson on 4th and 1.
Baltimore led for the entirety of the game from that point off, never taking its foot off the gas. The 38 points were the most that it had scored all season long and it was the third time this season that it held its opponent to less than 10 points.

Lamar Jackson Is Him
Against the Lions, Jackson looked every bit like the MVP quarterback he has proven he can be, throwing for 357 yards and three touchdowns on 21-of-27 passing while adding 36 yards and a touchdown on the ground. It was his second game this season with four total touchdowns, with the first coming against the Cleveland Browns in a 28-3 win.
Through seven games, Jackson now has eight passing touchdowns and five rushing touchdowns, and his completion percentage improved to a career-high 71% after his stellar performance against Detroit.
Defense Wins Championships
The Ravens' defense has looked incredible to start the season and the statistics back that up. Not only are they one of the top defenses in yards allowed per game, but they are a stifling force that keeps opponents off the board. The Lions came into the game averaging 28 points per game and 383.7 yards per game, which rank fourth and third respectively.
Baltimore was able to hold the high-powered Detroit offense to just six points on a fourth-quarter touchdown from Jahmyr Gibbs. The Ravens' defense turns them from a playoff team to a possible Super Bowl contender this year.
Zay Flowers Is WR1 In Baltimore
Zay Flowers was drafted by the Ravens with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Boston College. Since then, he has exceeded every expectation and more with his play. Against the Lions, he had four catches for 75 yards with one of his catches going for 46 yards.
On the season, he has tallied 39 receptions for 442 yards and a touchdown and has looked like the top wide receiver in Baltimore. While Mark Andrews is still Jackson's No. 1 target, there could finally be stability around him at the wide receiver position.
