Ravens RT Morgan Moses 'Most Underappreciated' Says NFL.com

A "home run" signing by the Baltimore Ravens, right tackle Morgan Moses might just be the "most underappreciated" player on the roster.
In this story:

The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the more consistently successful franchises in recent memory. One way or another, they always seem to be right in the thick of the NFL Playoff race and have earned postseason play in four of the past five seasons.

So it's hard to consider any member of Baltimore's roster underappreciated - well, now that quarterback Lamar Jackson has his new contract - but according to NFL.com 32-year-old right tackle Morgan Moses is just that.

"The signing of Moses last offseason has been a home run," says NFL.com. "Computer vision shows Moses improved as the 2022 campaign went on, especially at run blocking; his win share increased by more than 18 percentage points between Week 4 and the end of the season, the third-best figure among right tackles in that span...Beyond the value Moses provides at the position, based on his current APY ranking among right tackles, he's set to count for just 2.3 percent of the Ravens' cap charge this season."

That win-share is a big contributor to how the league's media group decides players like Moses are the most underappreciated, but it's not the only part of the calculations.

"First, I calculate and then rank each player's season-long contribution metric by team (win share)," NFL.com explains. "After making those calculations, I factor in each player's salary by position...to add some context...Then I weight players drafted in Round 2 or later who have been to no more than two Pro Bowls who aren't in the top 10 at their position."

If Moses is as valuable as NFL.com says he is then a Pro Bowl selection could be in store for the veteran tackle, potentially removing him from candidacy to be the Ravens' most underappreciated player next offseason.
