Ex Ravens QB Robert Griffin III Predicts Super Bowl Team

Former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Rober Griffin III has lofty expectations for his former team.

Expectations don't get any loftier than predicting a team to win the Super Bowl. Those expectations may not be too high for the Baltimore Ravens. Former Ravens quarterback and current ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III predicted Baltimore would win the Super Bowl this season if they stay healthy.

"I just think Lamar Jackson with those weapons, if he stays healthy the entire season, he now has the Jimmies and the Joes to help him in the playoffs," RGIII said on the Rich Eisen Show. "X's and O's has always got them there and his obviously unique ability, but now he's got the Jimmies and the Joes that can make some plays when you need them late in the playoffs like we've seen from all the other Super Bowl winning teams."

Jackson has missed five games in each of the last two seasons due to lower body injuries, including Baltimore's 23-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Wild Card round last season.

Jackson's supporting cast seemingly got a boost in the receiving game and with the coaching staff. Baltimore drafted receiver Zay Flowers in the 2023 NFL Draft and signed Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year $15 million deal. That tandem plus tight end Mark Andrews gives Jackson the best receiving corps in his Ravens tenure.

That passing attack will be guided by new offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Monken was previously the play-caller for the Georgia Bulldogs, who has won back-to-back national championships.

With Monken calling plays, RG3 said Jackson has more control of the offense. "He's gonna have the opportunity to go to the line of scrimmage and basically have the entire playbook at his disposal so he can play the game based off how he sees it," RG3 said. "And Todd Monken has trusted him to do that, something that he hasn't been trusted to do in Baltimore before. But now he is and talking to Lamar he's super excited about that because it allows him to play the game a little bit more free. Which if you watch him play, he loves to play it free."

With more control and the ability to play more freely along with the other changes to the offense, the former MVP may have a chance to play the best football of his career. If Jackson can do that and stay healthy, Baltimore is more than capable of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season.
