Baltimore rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers doesn't have his eye on any specific awards this season, instead he just wants to win.

Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers isn't focused on winning Offensive Rookie of the Year this season.

"I wanna win first, before anything," Flowers told Josina Anderson. "I would rather win before anything."

The Ravens selected Flowers with the No. 22 overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Before he was drafted, he played for the Boston College Eagles, where he made a name for himself.

As an Eagle, Flowers set the all-time program record for most career receiving touchdowns, most career receptions and most career receiving yards.

Baltimore has never had a player win Offensive Rookie of the Year. Linebackers Peter Boulware and Terrell Suggs both won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1997 and 2003 respectively, and running back Jamal Lewis won Offensive Player of the Year in 2003.

The Ravens have won only two playoff games since they won Super Bowl XLVII in 2013.

With Lamar Jackson at quarterback, Baltimore has struggled at times to provide him with consistent weapons to throw to. In Jackson's five seasons with the Ravens, he has only had a 1000-yard receiver in one of them, when Marquise Brown and Mark Andrews both went over 1000 yards.

Flowers was selected with Baltimore's first pick in the draft just hours after it was announced that Jackson signed a five-year $260 million extension with $185 million guaranteed.

Now, he is a part of a receiving group that also consists of Andrews, Odell Beckham Jr. and Rashod Bateman. ... and concerning themselves with individual goals, Zay says, isn't what 2023 is about - which could mean 2023 is about Ravens true contention.
