Ravens Miss Out on RB Aaron Jones in Free Agency
Former Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones - who was released on Monday - has a new home.
The Baltimore Ravens were thought to be in play for a new running back this offseason through free agency and were linked to many of the top names. But a day after the "legal tampering period" began, when teams can negotiate with free agents-to-be but cannot sign them, Baltimore has missed on all.
Jones was thought to be in play for the Ravens after his release, but the UTEP product is staying in the NFC North and joining the Minnesota Vikings on a one-year, $7 million deal per NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.
Jones was expendable in Green Bay after the Packers agreed to terms with former Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs.
Ravens Free Agency: Kevin Zeitler Possible Return
The Ravens are most likely now scrambling after losing Gus Edwards to the Los Angeles Chargers, and missing out on the top names like Saquon Barkley, who will sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, Austin Eckeler, who will sign with the Washington Commanders, D'Andre Swift, who will sign with the Chicago Bears, and Jacobs.
Other free agents the Ravens will need to replace are safety Geno Stone, wideout Devin Duvernay, guard John Simpson, corner Ronald Darby and linebacker Del'Shawn Phillips.
