Scouting Combine: 3 Names That Ravens Fans Should Take Note Of
With the Scouting Combine less than a week away, scouts, general managers, and coaches have begun to pilgrimage to Indianapolis for the next step in the process of finding the next great stars of the NFL.
For the Baltimore Ravens, the combine offers a unique chance for a team with an excellent draft pedigree to continue to find the next crop of strong players that can help keep their championship window open.
While the list of confirmed names has not been made just yet, there are still plenty of players that the Ravens and their fans could take an interest in Indy.
Blake Corum - RB, Michigan
It's a fair bet that the Ravens are going to be interested in a running back during the Draft cycle. Corum, a hero on the National Championship team from this past year, is as much a Raven runner as any other prospect this year.
Scouts love the drive and ability to fall forward that Corum displays consistently. He was one of the more dependable backs in college and should be an excellent mid-round pickup for a team like Baltimore.
He's not the biggest or the fastest, but any test that he impresses in Indy should do wonders for his draft stock.
Brendan Rice - WR, USC
The son of the greatest wide receiver of all time is trying to make a path into the NFL.
Feel old yet?
Jokes aside, Rice is a solid receiving prospect that could help him stock well if he pulls together a good combine. While he could go as high as the second-round, a team like the Ravens would make a lot of sense for him specifically. With Zay Flowers already on the roster, a taller, bigger frame wideout is the kind of target that should fit nicely in this offense.
Rice being 6'2", and 212 lbs should satisfy that requirement nicely for Baltimore.
T'Vondre Sweat - DL, Texas
Almost everyone expects Baltimore to place the franchise tag on Justin Madubuike this offseason. Even if they do, though, it would be smart to bring in a young tackle this year to grow with the Pro Bowl pass rusher.
Ravens Remain Silent About Justin Madubuike and Franchise Tag
Sweat is an excellent prospect who could test very well and shoot up draft boards in a week. While he played on a very talented defensive line, it's a safe bet to assume that he's got the right intangibles to be a solid starter in the NFL.
This is a pick the Ravens could make just to build up the depth of the line that could go through some major changes.
