Ravens Agree To Sign Former Patriots, Eagles, Raiders WR Nelson Agholor
The Baltimore Ravens have finally made a splash in free agency ... kind of.
Per The Score's Jordan Schultz, Baltimore has agreed to a one-year deal with a base of $3.25 million with incentives that make it worth up to $6.25 million. Agholor spent the previous two seasons in New England where he caught 68 passes for 835 yards and five touchdowns in 20 games.
The Ravens have attempted to upgrade their wideout room for the past couple of seasons, mainly in an attempt to appease quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is currently embroiled in a public negotiation with Baltimore for a long-term deal.
The Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson earlier in the offseason.
Agholor will be 30 years old before the season starts, but Baltimore GM Eric DeCosta and Co. hope he's got plenty of deep-threat prowess left in the tank. Will adding Agholor to a room that already includes the likes of Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay and Tylan Wallace make a difference in the Jackson negotiations?
Only Jackson knows.
In eight seasons split between New England, Las Vegas and Philadelphia, Agholor has caught 340 balls for 4,246 yards with 31 touchdowns.
His best season was in 2020 with the Raiders when he registered 48 catches for 896 yards and eight touchdowns. Now, he'll try and reach the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career, hopefully with Jackson at the helm under center.
