Ravens Ready to Start QB Tyler Huntley In Place of Lamar Jackson?

The Baltimore Ravens remain locked in trying to get a long-term deal done for Lamar Jackson, but are they privately happy enough if Tyler Huntley is the starter next season?
In this story:

The Baltimore Ravens are still trying to work out a long-term deal with Lamar Jackson. After over two years of trying to sort out a contract, nothing has been forthcoming, though.

But...

Are the Ravens, at least internally, happy enough with the thought of Tyler Huntley being the starter in 2023?

As outlandish as that sounds, given the skills of MVP Jackson, the lack of movement on a potential contract for Lamar could hint at this ... as perhaps the relationship between player and franchise has soured as a result.

Huntley is a restricted free agent, so a new deal would need to be agreed upon to keep him in Baltimore, but it would be significantly less than what Jackson is after, of course.

So, there could be a willingness to let the Jackson situation play out and go forward with Huntley, although the Ravens fan base wouldn't be thrilled with that idea.

Huntley was 2-2 stepping in for Jackson last year as he threw for 658 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. It is worth noting that the Ravens were leading the division with Jackson steering the ship, but with Huntley, they were overtaken.

Does that bother the Ravens' front office? We shall see.

While there is still time to get a contract sorted for Jackson, there isn't much hope from the outside as the Ravens, and their star quarterback have been at loggerheads for the past two years. There is now a report that states that Lamar will eventually sign the tag and play, despite his disgruntlement.

But without that? Tyler Huntley might be your starter come Week 1.
