'Everybody's Saying Super Bowl!' Ravens Have 'Everything' for Special Season
The Baltimore Ravens are now a decade removed from their last Super Bowl appearance but have their eyes sight on ending that drought this season.
Baltimore has made the postseason in four of the past five years, earning the reputation of being one of the most consistent organizations in the NFL - but it wants more.
Ravens tight end Mark Andrews mentioned Thursday that his No. 1 priority is bringing a Super Bowl to Baltimore ... and linebacker Patrick Queen reiterated the same sentiment moments later.
"Everybody around the locker room is saying Super Bowl," Queen said. "I don't think it's Super Bowl or bust. I think it's just Super Bowl, because you don't want a bust mindset. Any year you come in, your mindset is to get to the Super Bowl."
The Ravens have a lot of optimism after a strong offseason in which they gave quarterback Lamar Jackson a big contract extension, hired offensive coordinator Todd Monken after back-to-back national titles at the University of Georgia, and added several offensive weapons, including All-Pro wideout Odell Beckham Jr. and first-round pick Zay Flowers.
Consider further that many key faces return from Baltimore's defense and the stability that coach John Harbaugh brings, and Queen feels the Ravens have the ingredients for a special season.
"With the pieces we have, with the defense we have, the offense we have, the new coordinator, everything - special teams we have, head coach, the whole organization, everything, we have what we need right here," Queen said.
"We don't need anything else."
Now, all the Ravens need to do is put everything together and execute on Sundays ... and if they do that, there's a strong belief inside the locker room that the decade-long title drought can come to a close.
