Ravens Land CB Emmanuel Forbes, WR Tyler Scott in McShay-Kiper Mock
The NFL draft is fast approaching and the Baltimore Ravens find themselves in somewhat of a tricky spot. They have limited draft capital to work with as they only have five picks to work with and are dealing with the uncertainty surrounding Lamar Jackson.
That uncertainty with Jackson and whether or not he will be a Raven next season has made the Ravens a difficult team to put together a mock draft for. There are needs at receiver and corner, though, which is exactly what they address in Todd McShay and Mel Kiper's joint three-round mock draft.
McShay was on the clock for the Ravens with their first-round pick and had them select cornerback Emmanuel Forbes out of Mississippi State overall at No. 22 overall. Forbes was a certified ballhawk in his three seasons at Mississippi State with 14 interceptions, including an impressive six pick-sixes.
Adding Forbes to a secondary to work alongside cornerback Marlon Humphrey and the other talented pieces could give the Ravens their next great corner. After McShay went corner for the Ravens in the first round, he went offense in round three and drafted a receiver.
Joining Forbes in Baltimore in this mock is Tyler Scott out of Cincinnati, who the Ravens take in the third round with the No. 86 overall pick. Scott had a career year in his final season at Cincinnati, recording 54 receptions for 899 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
Having already added Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency, landing Scott in the third round gives the Ravens another talented receiver to work with - and should Jackson stay, gives him the best supporting cast he's had so far.
The Ravens, when healthy, have one of the better rosters in the NFL and have added pieces to it this offseason. If this is how their first two picks fell, then they will be right back in the mix as one of the AFC's top contenders.
