Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has had an MVP-caliber season, and his offensive coordinator Todd Monken has revealed a trait that has helped him soar to new heights this year.

The Baltimore Ravens are currently enjoying the first-round bye week of the playoffs as the No. 1 seed as they will look on intently at the competition this weekend.

A big reason why the Ravens finished with a 13-4 record is due to quarterback Lamar Jackson, who had an MVP-caliber season in his first year in Todd Monken's new system.

While Jackson's play on the field is sometimes otherwordly, Monken has revealed a unique trait that his quarterback has exhibited this year.

“What I've seen over the course of the year that does a great job in terms of balancing success and disappointment and coming back the office coming back in the building with a great frame of mind,” Monken said. “He has a great way of compartmentalizing some frustration, competitiveness, success, disappointment all the above that comes from playing the NFL and walk in the building with a smile on his face. Like okay let's go to work, that's a unique trait because it's hard handling success handling disappointment, and then walking in the building saying okay what's next.”

Jackson's regular season finished in Week 17 as the Ravens dismantled the Miami Dolphins 56-19 as he threw five touchdown passes and Lamar's stats for the year make for good reading.

Jackson set career highs in passing yards (3,678) and completion percentage (67.2), while throwing for 24 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. He also rushed for his highest total since 2020 (821) and had his highest rushing touchdown total since 2020 (five).

With the Ravens gearing up for their Divisional Round matchup, it is all about fixing the little details as Jackson stated earlier in the week with the thought of not letting this superb season end the way 2019 did.

There is no tomorrow for Baltimore now, and Monken will be hoping that his quarterback's "unique trait" is something that the team can lean on when the pressure ramps up in a couple of weeks.

Jackson has had a superb season, but now he has to make it count, at a time when he has generally struggled in his career - in the playoffs.
