'Chip on my Shoulder!' Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Discusses Super Bowl Chances
The Baltimore Ravens ended the regular season with a 13-4 record having clinched the AFC's No. 1 seed and home-field throughout the playoffs.
With this feeling like the Ravens' best chance to at least make the Super Bowl since that now infamous 2019 season that saw Baltimore bounced by the Tennessee Titans 28-12 at home, quarterback Lamar Jackson wants that trophy.
"I definitely do have that chip on my shoulder," Jackson said on Tom Brady's "Let's Go" Podcast. "I haven't accomplished what I wanted to yet, so that's why that chip is still on my shoulder. I want that Super Bowl. That's the accolade that I really want so bad. … I feel like we have the team to do it. We have the guys in the building, coaching staff, training staff, equipment guys, we got everything we need right now."
The Ravens will get to sit back and relax as the other AFC teams beat the snot out of each other in an attempt to try and meet Baltimore in the Divisional Round.
With John Harbaugh's team set up well to go on a deep playoff run, the demons from 2019 will no doubt be circling the minds of his players.
But with Mike Macdonald having the defense playing superb football as they rank first in points allowed per game (just 16.5) and Todd Monken's offense coming to life and averaging 28.4 points a game, there is a different feel to this Ravens team.
Ravens Must Avenge 2019 For Closure
Lamar is right, the Ravens have "everything" they need to win the Super Bowl this season. They have the players, the coaches, and the home-field advantage.
Now, they just have to make it count and if they do, that "chip" won't be on Lamar's shoulder anymore.
