Ravens Expected to Lock Down QB Tyler Huntley

In a time where restricted free agents rarely sign offer sheets, Huntley is the exception. He's just 25 and has shown the Ravens enough for them to offer $2.627 million for next year.

The Baltimore Ravens are scheduled to sign a quarterback on Monday. Not the one we're all waiting for, mind you, but an important piece of 2023, nonetheless.

Per NFL Network, Tyler Huntley will sign his restricted free agent tender on Monday.

In a time where restricted free agents rarely sign offer sheets, Huntley is the exception. He's just 25 and has shown the Ravens enough for them to offer $2.627 million for next year.

The tender meant that all 31 other NFL teams couldn've made an offer to Huntley and the Ravens could've matched it. They didn't have to.

Huntley appeared in six games last season for Baltimore, starting four of those. He registered a 2-2 record to finish the regular season, helping the Ravens earn a playoff spot while starting quarterback Lamar Jackson was nursing an injured knee.

The former Utah Ute completed 75 of 112 passes for 658 yards in 2023 with two touchdowns and three interceptions. He also carried the ball 43 times for another 137 yards and an additional touchdown.

Now that Huntley is locked down, and the Ravens have a much-improved wide receiver corps with Odell Beckham Jr. and Nelson Agholor on the roster, the bigger question is if Jackson will sign his franchise tender, sign a long-term deal with the Ravens, sign an offer sheet with another team, or sit out all of 2023.

If Jackson's future is in Baltimore, at least we know who will be No. 2 on the depth chart.
