Baltimore Ravens WATCH: Keaton Mitchell Scores Second-Career TD with 38-Yard Sprint
The Ravens are facing division rival Cleveland at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday. And early on, it seems to be a continuation of last week's 37-3 shellacking of the Seattle Seahawks - in more ways than one.
One of the stars of last week's win for Baltimore is shining this week for the Ravens.
Undrafted rookie running back Keaton Mitchell has already made his presence known against the Browns with a 38-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter. That put the Ravens up 14-0 after a pick-6 by Kyle Hamilton on the Browns' second play from scrimmage.
Last week against the Seahawks, Mitchell broke out with 138 yards on nine carries, while scoring his first-ever NFL touchdown. Add one more to that career total now with his score against Cleveland.
Cleveland boasts the No. 1 overall defense in the NFL, but Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are making that defense look silly early on with 74 total yards and 14 points barely mid-way through the first quarter.
Mitchell went undrafted out of East Carolina in the 2023 NFL Draft and was signed by the Ravens afterward.
While at East Carolina, Mitchell rushed for 3,027 yards on 463 carries and scored 25 touchdowns. he also caught 60 balls for 580 yards and another three scores. Overall, Mitchell registered 3,607 yards from scrimmage with 28 touchdowns.
Mitchell and the Ravens lead the AFC North over the Browns, Steelers, and Bengals, and are tied with the best record in the AFC with the Kansas City Chiefs.
