The winning machine keeps on rolling for the Baltimore Ravens.

Sunday's installment in this trend was not easy, but the Ravens claimed a 37-31 overtime win over the resurgent Los Angeles Rams thanks to a punt return for a touchdown after regulation, and it goes to show just how resilient Baltimore is at this point of the season.

There were times on Sunday where it looked like the Rams were going to pick up an upset win and bolster its chances at reaching the playoffs in the NFC. Instead, the Ravens were eventually able to get the job done. They were the better team on paper, and they managed to escape and reach the 10-win mark on the year.

There will be games like this over the course of the NFL season. Teams that appear to be legitimate contenders run into a difficult time against a team that is battling to keep its playoff hopes alive, but it is big that Baltimore was able to come away with the win in this nail-biter. As they strive to be the No. 1 seed in the AFC and secure home field advantage in the playoffs, the Ravens need as many wins as possible down the stretch, regardless of how they come.

The Rams are not the same team they were earlier in the season when they started the year at 3-6. This Los Angeles team can legitimately make the postseason and make some noise if they get there, so this was not a disheartening effort by the Ravens on Sunday.

Ravens Beat Rams In Overtime Thriller

It may have taken a punt return in overtime, but a win is a win, and at this point of the season, that's all you can ask for, especially when they come against playoff contenders.

Sunday may not have been the most relaxing watch for Ravens fans, but this game shows that their team is a real Super Bowl contender, and that should be the primary takeaway for the Baltimore faithful.
