Ravens WR Zay Flowers Fined for Taunting Call in AFC Championship Game vs. Chiefs
The Ravens' loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game obviously hurt. And it was an especially painful experience for rookie wideout Zay Flowers who committed a taunting penalty after a big pass that nullified some of the gain and then fumbled the ball through the end zone that turned it over to the Chiefs rather than putting six points on the board.
And now, the hits keep coming for Flowers.
On Saturday, the NFL announced that Flowers has been fined $10,927 for that taunting call. Flowers was tackled short of the end zone by Chiefs' corner L'Jarius Sneed on a 54-yard pass play. As Flowers attempted to get up, Sneed was holding his leg causing Flowers to push off with a kicking motion.
Flowers then flipped the ball at Sneed and stood over him, bringing the penalty flag and the taunting call.

Ravens defensive tackle Travis Jones was fined $6,700 for a hit to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ head that also drew a flag after the play.
This season, Flowers caught 77 balls for 858 yards and five touchdowns in his rookie campaign after being taken in the first round by the Ravens in last April's NFL Draft.
