'Concerned About the W!' Baltimore Ravens LB Roquan Smith 'Doesn't Care' About His Numbers
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith is focused on one thing and one thing only, winning.
"I don't really care if I'm being honest," Smith said. "I was more so concerned about the W. Like I told you before, I could have, like Seattle, five tackles and we win, I'm happy. And that's what I truly care more about, it's not about statistics for me. Like if I was into that, you would know, trust me."
This season, Smith has recorded 108 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three tackles for loss and five passes defended. His 108 tackles puts him at third in the NFL through 10 weeks. Most of his numbers are pretty par for the course in his career with the exception of tackles for loss, which is usually a bit higher.
It is the first time since Smith's rookie season with the Chicago Bears in 2018 that his team has a winning record through the first 10 games of the season.
Baltimore's three losses have all come in very winnable games, with two of them being games that it arguably should not have lost. The Ravens look like contenders, and if quarterback Lamar Jackson can stay healthy, it will be Smith's first time entering the playoffs with a chance to contend for a title.
For now, the team is taking things week by week, with a divisional matchup on a short week up next. Baltimore will be hosting the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football this week on Nov. 16 at 8:15 p.m.
