Lamar Reveals Ravens Plan to Change 'Madden' Rating
The major of the NFL players who dislike and disagree with their ratings on the Madden 24 video game habitually take to social media to protest and maybe even demand a recount. Compared to the way Lamar Jackson has opted to "dislike and disagreee'' with his rating, those other guys come off as lame.
Why? Because the Baltimore Ravens QB is vowing to simply control what he can control. Jackson shared his initial reaction to his Madden rating of 91 as he wrote, "Imma just move it to a 99 wen I get the game."
Aaaaand ... mic drop. As it happens, the game thinks highly of Lamar. With the QB numbers coming out, Patrick Mahomes (99), Joe Burrow (95), Josh Allen (94) and Lamar are the only quarterbacks ranked as a 90 overall or higher.
We've always getting distraught about what a video game company thinks of your play is sort of silly. And most NFL players seem to choose to have some fun with it all. But ... if Lamar is serious?
Jackson - given his athletic gifts, his likely mastery of the Ravens new offense and his resume - really could get his future grade changed all the way up to a 99, in theory. If wants to earn a 99 overall, he simply needs to throwback to his brilliant 2019 form. That year, of course, he had 3,127 passing yards, 1,206 rushing yards and 43 total touchdowns en route to being named the MVP of the league. Of course, do all that stuff again and the Ravens might just win the Super Bowl, at which time ... who cares what your video-game rating is?
