NFL Mock Draft: Baltimore Ravens Add CB with Size?

The Baltimore Ravens could look to the secondary to start their draft in 2024.

The Baltimore Ravens are one of the more complete teams in the NFL, but there are still some needs for the AFC's top team.

While they may not have much time to address those needs before the playoffs begin in about six weeks, Baltimore could look to add a pool of talent to its already stacked team in the NFL Draft this April.

The Athletic recently released a new mock draft, where the Ravens selected Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell with the No. 31 pick.

Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. (18) is hit by Toledo Rockets cornerback Quinyon Mitchell (27) as he catches a touchdown pass during the first half of the NCAA Division I football game at Ohio Stadium.

"Mitchell, who currently ranks No. 2 in the FBS with 17 passes defended, offers size (6-1, 200), speed (4.39 40-yard dash) and a composed play style downfield. He has been targeted 59 times this season and is allowing only 42.4 percent completions with zero penalties," The Athletic writes.

Mitchell may not be super familiar to many because he plays in the MAAC instead of a big school, but he is considered to be one of the high-risers of this year's draft class amongst the cornerbacks.

The Athletic pegs Mitchell as the fifth cornerback off the board behind Clemson's Nate Wiggins (No. 11), Alabama's Terrion Arnold (No. 13) and Kool-Aid McKinstry (No. 18) and Iowa's Cooper DeJean (No. 24).

2024 NFL Mock Draft: Ravens Add Boost to Defensive Talent

If a player like Mitchell can come in and be an immediate contributor to the secondary, the Ravens will have a good chance to find themselves as contenders once again this time a year from now when Baltimore is eyeing a playoff spot.

The Ravens are off this week with their bye, but they will be back in action on Sunday, Dec. 10 against the Los Angeles Rams at home.
