Mahomes is 'Darth Vader' in Chiefs vs. Ravens AFC Championship 'Star Wars'?

Patrick Mahomes is 'Darth Vader' in Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens AFC Championship 'Star Wars'? (So Lamar is 'Luke Skywalker?)

It's apparently become a "meme,'' and maybe we don't fully get it because while we like "Star Wars'' just fine, we don't geek out over it.

But those who do now see Patrick Mahomes has having "matured'' into Darth Vader.

Here come the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, looking to reach yet another Super Bowl on Sunday as they play in their sixth straight AFC title game. They are here in Baltimore taking on Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in the conference finale.

"Good guys'' and "bad guys''? That's part of storytelling, and in this story, to some, Mahomes came into the league as a fresh face that "everyone was rooting for.'' (Again, per the meme.)

The "bad guy'' then? The dynastic Tom Brady and the Patriots.

And now that has changed, in the eyes of some. Now Mahomes and the Chiefs are this era's version of the Brady Patriots. That makes Mahomes as the villain ... leaving Lamar Jackson playing ... Luke Skywalker?

"I'm Lamar Jackson! I'm here to rescue you!''

Lamar Scouting Report from Polian - But Why's He Allowed to Comment?

That Star Wars comparison tweet has been viewed more than two million times so far. One of the commenters wrote in response, "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.''

Errr, that's not "Star Wars.'' That's "Batman.'' As the Chiefs and the Ravens get set to kick off at 3 p.m. E.T. on Sunday, let's keep our geek-out memes straight, shall we, fellas?
