Ravens Trade for Cowboys QB Trey Lance? 'Bad Reporting!' - GM Blasts Media

"We've got good quarterbacks. We love our quarterbacks. We weren't looking to add any quarterbacks at all ... That's what I would say on that." - Ravens GM Eric DeCosta on "news'' that connected Baltimore to a trade pursuit with the Cowboys for QB Trey Lance.
In this story:

It seems innocuous enough that before the Dallas Cowboys closed their surprising deal to acquire Trey Lance from the San Francisco 49ers, the Baltimore Ravens were mentioned as a potential trade suitor for the former No. 3 overall pick.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta doesn't see those "mentions'' as being "innocuous'' at all.

addressed the rumors regarding his team's interest in Lance. He cited bad reporting as the reason Baltimore was linked to the North Dakota State product.

“I would say that’s just bad reporting,” DeCosta said when asked about the alleged news. “If somebody calls you and asks if you’re interested in a player and you say, ‘No,’ does that mean you’re interested in that player?”

Well ... no. It does not. And of course, the number of conversations that occur between all teams about almost all players can - when reported on in any way - create screaming headlines that really don't deserve to "scream.''

"We've got good quarterbacks,'' DeCosta said of his room, led of course by MVP candidate Lamar Jackson and also featuring an accomplished backup in Tyler Huntley. "We love our quarterbacks. We weren't looking to add any quarterbacks at all ... That's what I would say on that."
