'Stay Away, Taylor Swift!'? Did Kansas City Ask Pop Star To Avoid Chiefs Super Bowl Parade with Travis Kelce?

The Baltimore Ravens and their fans have reasons to avoid watching the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl victory parade; that, you surely think, should've been us!

But while the Ravens gear up for next year, having lost the AFC Championship Game to the eventual repeat-champ Chiefs, the city of Kansas City is making preparations to hold a parade to celebrate Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the team ...

With one apparent concern: Is the city asking Taylor Swift to steer clear of the party?

Kansas City manager Brian Platt spoke with NPR Kansas City about the upcoming Super Bowl parade and was asked about the possibility of pop star Swift, the girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, being present. In his answer, he hinted that city officials might have told Swift's camp not to show up in order to keep crowds down and make the event more "safe" for fans.

“I can't confirm or deny but we might have already told that to her team, just to keep everybody safe and make things a little bit easier for us,” he said.

But Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas is now correcting the city manager.

"Not true at all,'' Lucas said on Twitter. "We’re enchanted to welcome everyone to tomorrow’s parade and the women and men of our police department are prepared to keep all safe. We’ll have a great championship celebration for our Chiefs!"
