Drew Brees did not return for a third offensive series Sunday against the Rams because of a hand injury, and the New Orleans Saints listed him as questionable to return.

The injury occurred in the first quarter. Brees' throwing hand hit against Aaron Donald's hand as the Rams defensive tackle rushed into the New Orleans backfield.

With Teddy Bridgewater in the game, Brees stood on the sideline with tape around the wrist and on the base of the thumb on his throwing hand.

The quarterback has missed one career start due to injury. A shoulder injury in 2015 caused him to miss a Week 3 game at Carolina.
