Bucs vs. Saints: Pregame Report

A Tom Brady and Drew Brees duel closes out the NFL's Divisional Playoff Round, as the Bucs and Saints look to get in to the final four.

The NFL's Divisional Round closes out the weekend with the Saints (13-4) hosting Tom Brady and the Bucs (12-5) in what could be Drew Brees' last game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. This will be the first time these two franchises face each other in the postseason. Whoever wins this game will have an afternoon date with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers next Sunday.

All-Time Series: Saints lead 37-21, winning five straight and seven out of the past 10 matchups.

Things to watch: Early reports indicate that New Orleans will be without Taysom Hill (knee) and Latavius Murray (quad), who are both questionable entering Sunday evening. Obviously, the Saints are as close to 100 percent as they can be, and if Murray cannot go, this figures to be a heavy dose of Alvin Kamara against the Bucs on the ground. Ty Montgomery, who had a strong Week 17 game against the Panthers after the running back room was wiped out from COVID-19 tracing protocols, could be in-line for more work. We're also going to pay close attention to the chess match between Dennis Allen's defense and the Bucs offense. All things matter in this game, and it could come down to one or two possessions.

I officially started covering the New Orleans Saints & other NFL topics in 2011. My work has been featured on various outlets over the years. Prior to joining Saints News Network, I served as the Managing Editor of SB Nation's Canal Street Chronicles for 3.5 years, and before that with FanSided's Who Dat Dish as the Managing Editor for several years. I have also had experiences of being a freelance Saints reporter for The Sun Herald in Biloxi, MS and a contributing writer for WDSU, a local NBC TV station in New Orleans.
