Alvin Kamara Suspended Three Games
Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been suspended three games by the NFL, which will stem from the February 2022 incident in Las Vegas. He'll be able to participate in preseason practices and games, but will be out in games against the Titans, Panthers, and Packers. He'll be eligible to return following Week 3's game.
Here's the statement from the NFL, which will provide everything you need to know regarding Kamara's status:
Alvin Kamara of the New Orleans Saints and Chris Lammons of the Indianapolis Colts are suspended for their teams’ first three regular season games of the 2023 season for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, the NFL announced today.
The suspensions stem from their involvement in a February 2022 incident at a Las Vegas establishment. Kamara and Lammons are eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games.
Kamara will be permitted to return to the Saints’ active roster on Monday, September 25, following the team’s Week 3 game vs. the Green Bay Packers. Lammons will be allowed to return to the Colts’ active roster on Monday, September 25 following the team’s Week 3 game vs. the Baltimore Ravens.
Kamara met with the media for over 20 minutes following Friday's training camp practice, and he started by getting everything out in the open. He took accountability and responsibility, not looking for any pity and also talking about losing things financially and in the realm of friendships.
"Poor judgment on my end, definitely a bad decision, but I'm a man," Kamara said following practice. "Anything I've ever done in my life, I've stood on and I can take accountability for. I can say when I'm wrong, and I was completely wrong. I embarrassed the Saints, I embarrassed my family and my mother, I embarrassed myself, I embarrassed this city and I embarrassed the NFL."
