Cam Jordan, Saints Agree to Contract Extension
Cam Jordan might be a Saints player for his whole career. As first reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the two sides reached a two-year contract extension worth up to $27.5 million. Saints News Network confirmed the extension independently.
We had reported back in February that Jordan had a desire to stay with the Saints to finish out his career in New Orleans, and things have progressing towards that over the past several months. It picked up steam after Mickey Loomis talked with us at the Zurich Classic, and the two sides have had positive talks for a while.
It's Cam Jordan's fourth multi-year contract with the team. Jordan's dad Steve played his whole career in Minnesota. His father and and family were in attendance at a special press conference on Friday morning to celebrate the moment, and Jordan will take a veteran rest day.
"I couldn't see myself being anywhere but the New Orleans Saints," Jordan said.
