Cam Jordan Weighs in on Saints Future Quarterback

Cam Jordan discussed all things Saints with team legend Morten Andersen, and his response on how the team's future at quarterback will look was quite interesting.

Cam Jordan recently joined Saints legend Morten Andersen on The Great Dane Nation Podcast. Jordan discussed all things Saints, including this season, next season, and walking down memory lane about how he was thankful to land in New Orleans. You can check out the nearly 45-minute full interview here.

Jordan reflected on the draft process and meeting with Bill Johnson, to which he revealed that Johnson told him that he didn't even know why they were meeting because the team believed he wasn't going to be there when it was time for the Saints to pick.

It was undoubtedly a tough way to end the season for the Saints, and Jordan talked about how disappointing it was. He said he was able to process the loss to the Bucs within three days, but the first two days were spent mourning the lost season.

"This is one of those locker rooms the last couple of years that it's like everybody relies on each other. Everybody has an open line of communication where you can talk, and that's rare to have. To just have the locker room we had this year and fall short is mind-blowing. It's emotionally and physically draining."

Now to the fun stuff. In the interview, Andersen inquired about the team's future at quarterback, calling attention to if it is actually Drew Brees' last year, then is Taysom Hill up next? Jordan's response was quite interesting.

"Jameis Winston up next is I believe what Sean Payton said. Sean wouldn't say he's fighting for Jameis to be back if our goal was to have Taysom (Hill), but that's again rare instances where it's beyond my pay grade. Rare."

We've seen multiple hints that Winston is someone the team wants to be back in the building, and it's something that can be traced back to mid-December when Payton hopped on the Huddle and Flow podcast. Again, we haven't had an official announcement regarding the future of Brees, but it sounds more and more like New Orleans will do everything it can to bring Winston back to compete for the starting role in 2021.
