New Orleans Saints WR Chris Olave was arrested late Monday night, charged with speeding and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. First reported by Nick Underhill of neworleans.football, Olave was allegedly traveling over double the posted speed limit.

Underhill reports that Olave was cooperative with law enforcement and was taken into custody at Kenner City jail. He was expected to be released shortly after processing.

Katherine Terrell of ESPN reported that Olave was suspected of driving approximately 70 mph in a posted 30 mph zone on Joe Yenni Blvd. This was according to a Kenner City Police Department spokesman.

Olave, 23, is in his second NFL season, both with the Saints. He leads the team with 39 catches for 471 yards in 2023. A first-round choice out of Ohio State in the 2022 NFL Draft, Olave was the 11th overall pick and third wideout selected.

In his first year with New Orleans, Olave caught 72 passes for 1,042 yards and four touchdowns. He became just the third player in franchise history to surpass 1,000 yards receiving as a rookie.

The Saints have not released a statement on the incident involving Olave Monday night. New Orleans plays at the Indianapolis Colts this coming Sunday.
