Derek Carr Throwing Passes During Friday's Practice
Derek Carr avoided a major injury on Sunday against the Packers, and the initial belief was that he'd miss some time. However, another interesting development has happened this week, as he was at practice on Friday throwing passes in pads.
Carr spoke with the media on Wednesday, which was an encouraging sign. He's been trending in the right direction all week and has been at each practice.
"I'm going to do everything I can to be out there with my guys, and if I can play, I'll play," Carr said during his presser on Wednesday.
"If I physically just can't play, then I can't play. But if I'm out there, that means there's no fear of reinjury, there's no fear of being able to help the football team. I'm doing everything I can to be out there but never hurt the team at the same time."
We'll get the official injury report with designations very soon on Friday afternoon, as well as a word from Dennis Allen in his customary end of the week press conference. Jameis Winston would presumably start if Carr can't go, and the Saints also signed Jake Luton off the Panthers' practice squad for more insurance.
