Kendre Miller Dealing With Hamstring Injury
Saints rookie running back Kendre Miller is dealing with a hamstring injury, as revealed by head coach Dennis Allen on Thursday afternoon. No timetable was given for him to return, and his status is unclear for Week 1 against the Titans.
New Orleans made some practice squad moves on Thursday, signing Tony Jones Jr. and Jordan Mims. As of right now, Jamaal Williams is the only healthy running back on the roster in addition to fullback Adam Prentice. Kirk Merritt is also on the roster, but has been dealing with a hamstring as well. He has been at practice, so that's at least encouraging.
Alvin Kamara is out of the picture for the first three games due to a suspension, so it wouldn't be surprising to see someone like Jones Jr. get a call up to the active roster early on given the familiarity and uncertainty with the others. Like Allen said on Thursday, we'll see what happens with Miller, as the first injury report of the regular season drops on Wednesday.
